The WU Library is getting off to an energetic start this semester! To help you get the most out of your study time, we’ve introduced the following improvements:
Build your ideal study group: modular tables in the Central Library
In groups of two, three, six – or rather alone? The new modular five-sided tables in the Central Library can be pushed together, pulled apart, and combined freely to suit the size of your study group. We provide the tables and some suggested group seating plans, you just need to bring your friends and fellow students!

Power up your library experience with our charging station for phones and tablets
Reading up on literature research strategies on Fit4Research but your tablet is starting to run out of battery? Found the perfect article to include in your thesis in a database and now your Vorschau (öffnet in neuem Tab)smartphone is dying on you? Time for a break!
You can leave your cell phone or tablet to recharge at the new charging station while you go and get yourself a cup of coffee. Every locker is equipped with 4 charging cables (Apple Lightning, Apple 30-pin, Micro-USB, USB-C) and a USB adapter cable.

- Select a locker
- Connect your phone or tablet for charging
- Enter the 4-digit PIN code you’d like to use
- Don’t forget your locker and code numbers
There’s always room for one more… or is there? The new occupancy tracker
How many spaces are currently available in the Central Library and the Library for Law? How crowded are they likely to be later in the day? Effective immediately, you can use our new occupancy tracker to check online from home or on your cell phone how many people are currently using the libraries.
Where: Available on the starting page and under opening hours
How: The light-colored bars indicate predicted occupancy, while the dark-colored ones show current user numbers.
Studying, working, and doing research in the WU Library: Did you know…?
- Because breaks are important for productive studying and working, the library has extended break times from 30 to 60 minutes.
- The Library for Social Sciences in the D4 building now has additional work stations, as well as new, longer opening hours.
- If you have questions about literature research or reference management software, pull up a stool and join us at the search_bar
