Searching for and finding WU Theses
Are you about to start your thesis and still looking for inspiration? In the university library we collect all theses written at WU (with the exception of bachelor’s theses).
- Printed theses are freely accessible in the open shelves on level -2 (second basement floor).
- You can access theses submitted digitally (since March 2025) via the library catalog or the Digital Collections
Searching the Library Catalog
Use the WU Theses filter to access the master’s theses and dissertations written by your WU colleagues. You can also use the advanced search options to filter your results.
Example: Combination of supervisor & thematic search term
Search for WU theses that were supervised by a person with the last name Franke and which contain the term innovation in their bibliographic information (may include title, abstract, subject, etc.).

Example: Search for theses written at a specific institute or in a field of study
For theses completed before 2015, enter the name of the institute where they were completed in the search bar. From 2016 onwards, a search by field of study will lead you to your goal.
Digital WU Theses
All master’s and doctoral theses submitted digitally (starting with March 2025) are also directly available via the Digital Collections platform. Here you can filter by author or reviewer of the thesis, as well as by field of study and subject keywords.
Tip: Full texts can be accessed within the WU network. If you are working from home or on the go, don’t forget to activate your VPN connection.
