WU Vienna offers exciting opportunities to gain international experiences. Today, we are having a closer look at bachelor double degree programs. With the upcoming winter semester 2025/26, bachelor’s students in Business, Economics and Social Sciences (BAWISO 2023) have the chance to apply for a prestigious double degree for the first time. To tell us more, we are joined by the team of the International Office.

WU Blog: Let’s start with the basics: What exactly is a double degree?

International Office: A double degree program allows you to earn two academic degrees simultaneously – one from WU Vienna and one from a renowned partner university abroad. It is a unique opportunity to broaden your academic and cultural horizons while giving your CV a serious boost.

WU Blog: Can you tell what makes these programs so special?

International Office: From the perspective of a student, it is all about global mindset and personal growth. You will spend a significant amount of time abroad, fully integrated into the academic environment of the partner university. This not only enhances your cross-cultural competence but also helps you build a strong international network. In terms of career prospects, having a degree from a well-known institution in another country can significantly enhance your career opportunities – especially when it comes to joining multinational companies.

From the perspective of a university, double degrees are a sign of international connectedness, excellence, and a sign of trust from our partner universities. The exchange agreements show that WU Vienna possesses a strong international reputation which is based on its high quality in education, student development, facilities, and services.

WU Blog: Who is eligible to apply?

International Office: If you are enrolled in Business and Economics (BBE) or if you pursue a major in International Business Administration within Business, Economics and Social Sciences (BAWISO 2023), you are eligible to apply. Also, you will need to have completed at least 36 ECTS credits at WU Vienna (excluding free electives) before applying.
