Red Cross Vampire Cup 2025: A win for a good cause
At the Rotes Kreuz _Vampire Cup 2025, students and supporters from universities all over Austria will be competing against each other until May 31, 2025 and giving their best, i.e. their blood. Can the WU students once again come out on top?
The chances are not bad – the interim results for the Vampire Cup 2025 can be found here. And: There is still an opportunity to extend the existing lead – from May 19 to 21 at the Teaching Center.

You save lives with your blood donation and also support WU in the competition for the cup. As a thank you for your commitment, you will also receive a cool goodie bag on site! 🤩
Would you have known?
- WU has already won the Vampire Cup the last 3 years: 2022, 2023 & 2024
- The first blood drive was organized at WU in 1985, since then a total of 192 drives have taken place
- Since the first campaign, a total of 12,581 donations have been collected, which is around 5,850 liters of blood
- WU Vienna is leading the Vampire Cup again this year with around 200 blood donations so far
- A unit of blood is needed every 90 seconds in Austria – compared to only 3.35% of Austrians who donate blood regularly. This means that every single donation counts!
