Thomas Zörner, Research Economist, OeNB (Oesterreichische Nationalbank)

„The concepts and methods I learned during my studies are the bread and butter of my daily work.“

Thanks to the broad range of topics covered in the Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences and the Economics major, I had the opportunity to gain fundamental insights into a wide variety of economic areas. I was particularly interested in macroeconomic issues, and I was also able to find the right specializations to pursue this interest in depth.

I then went on to complete the Master’s Program in Economics and a doctoral program at WU, where I got to deepen my knowledge of the basics and specialize further, focusing on macroeconomic modeling and monetary policy.

The concepts and the theoretical and empirical methods I learned during my studies are the bread and butter of my daily work and enable me to independently analyze a wide range of research questions related to monetary policy.
