Margit Reischer, Assistant Professor, Georgetown University, Department of Economics

“This is a practice-oriented and state-of-the-art education.”

Choosing the Economics major in my WU Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences has been a key decision for my academic career. It shaped my research interests and prepared me very well for my doctoral program at the University of Cambridge.

The courses provided state-of-the-art training in the core skills every economist needs. In addition, the wide range of available specializations allowed me to deepen my knowledge in my area of interest, macroeconomics, and learn more about different research topics.

During my time at WU, I was also able to gain valuable teaching experience as an eLearning assistant at the Department of Economics. After my graduation in Vienna, I completed my PhD in economics at the University of Cambridge and have since been working as an assistant professor at Georgetown University.
