Hannah Zoe Sidoroff-Kraker, student of the WU Bachelor’s Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences enrolled in the Economy, Environment, Politics major
“This major teaches me how the economy can help us create a sustainable future.”
We live in a world full of ecological, political, economic, and social challenges. As yet, we haven’t found sustainable solutions to many of these problems. This is why I chose the Economy, Environment, Politics major. In this major, we learn to understand and question existing complexities in order to create a better future for everyone.
In particular, the major focuses on how the economy can and must contribute to a sustainable future. Transdisciplinary thinking is crucial here, and this approach is taught to us in interdisciplinary courses.
For me, the basis of the Economy, Environment, Politics major is methodical work that can serve as a tool for dealing with the problems of the future in a sustainable way. Competence-oriented learning, independent study, and the development of the skills needed to deal with rapidly changing challenges in an active and results-oriented way are some of the key reasons why I chose this major.
