From March 24 to 26, 2025, the WU International Staff Days took place at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. Under the motto “Connect, Collaborate, and Exchange Insights,” selected participants from WU partner universities came together to engage in interactive formats. The focus was placed on topics such as the student life cycle concept and excellence in university administration and management.<\/em><\/p>\n

One Program, Two Tracks, Plenty of Room for Exchange<\/h2>\n

Depending on their professional background, participants could choose between two tracks: “Student Life Cycle: From Support to Success” or “Striving for Excellence in University Administration and Management.” Both tracks aimed to facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practices, fostering cross-functional and international problem-solving approaches. Over the course of three days, expert sessions, case challenges, and workshops provided fresh ideas and opportunities for further development.<\/p>\n

Just as important as the content-related exchange was the opportunity to network. A guided city tour through Vienna’s first district and a social dinner at the traditional Melker Stiftskeller restaurant offered participants the chance to connect on a personal level and expand their professional networks.<\/p>\n

Individual Insights and Collective Learning<\/h3>\n

One of the highlights was the Learnings & Conclusions session on the final day of the staff days. Both tracks came together to share their insights and reflect on challenges and possible solutions. The session, moderated by Sigrid Schlor (Personnel Development and Planning) and Hannah Frost (Innovation Office), provided a valuable conclusion that transformed individual insights into a collective learning experience.<\/p>\n

Successful Implementation of the WU International Staff Days<\/h3>\n

Participants particularly appreciated the organization, the modern Campus WU, and the well-coordinated program. Many also valued the opportunity to gain perspectives beyond their own professional fields and to identify synergies across different areas:<\/p>\n

“It was enriching to gain insights into various processes \u2013 such as university admissions procedures or new approaches to student communication. The exchange showed me how closely connected many of our tasks are and how better networking can help us develop more effective solutions.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In this sense, the WU International Staff Days 2025 were not only a platform for professional exchange but also a significant contribution to (international) networking. Another notable aspect was that, for the first time, multiple WU units collaborated with the International Office to organize the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
