Instead, it\u2019s becoming increasingly important to take a critical look at our economic system and examine it from many angles to make it more sustainable.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>With this in mind, I initially started a purely social-sciences-focused degree program. I quickly realized that in order to understand complex problems holistically, I also needed economic expertise. That\u2019s why I decided to study at WU.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the Common Body of Knowledge, I acquired a basic knowledge of business administration. Since I wanted to learn more about the environment, society, and politics, I chose the Socioeconomics focus (which has since evolved into the Economics, Environment, Politics major). Then I went on to the Master\u2019s Program in Socio-Ecological Economics and Policy, where I deepened my knowledge of environmental issues.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that it\u2019s important to think in an interdisciplinary way and to avoid following any single approach too rigidly. It\u2019s great that the Economy, Environment, Politics major now combines all of these aspects and offers them to new students in a single undergraduate program.
