But who has the time to find and read about them in specialist journals and research databases? Here\u2019s where WU\u2019s research communication team comes in:\u00a0 We take selected research topics and \u201ctranslate\u201d them from complex academic language to easily understandable, everyday language, to provide you with well-founded explanations of the results. This gives everyone the opportunity to experience and understand WU\u2019s research, brought to the point and aimed at specific target groups. Here are a few examples:<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Researcher of the Month<\/h3>\n<p>Over 1,600 researchers from more than 50 different countries currently work at WU. Since 2016, WU has selected a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wu.ac.at\/en\/research\/wu-researchers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Researcher of the Month<\/a> each month, giving them the opportunity to introduce themselves and their work in a short video.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DqH_ism_MOs\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>1 Minute, 1 Paper<\/h3>\n<p>Can academic papers be explained in just one minute? Yes they can: With this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLCGv5qSIfk2TrBWO7kVvFCAlRikGzPN3y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">animated video format<\/a>, even the most complex topics can be presented simply and understandably. This format proves that science is more than dry academic journals, and can even be fun.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pG554ReNSc8\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3><strong>WU Magazin<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wu.ac.at\/presse\/publikationen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WU Magazin<\/a> is published three times a year and distributed with the Saturday edition of the Austrian daily newspaper Die Presse. With a circulation of 100,000 copies, the magazine reaches a wide audience and presents the findings and expertise of our researchers on a selected current topic. The most recent issue compared urban living with more rural lifestyles.<\/p>\n<h3>Life after Corona<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wu.ac.at\/en\/life-after-corona\/questions-answers\">This project<\/a> gives everyone the opportunity to ask WU\u2019s experts their own questions about the COVID-19 pandemic. Our researchers apply their expertise in economics, business, society, and law to answer them. Questions have been submitted on a wide variety of issues: From law (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wu.ac.at\/en\/life-after-corona\/corona-qa-details\/detail\/short-time-work-is-it-possible-to-exceed-the-agreed-working-hours\">\u201cShort-time work: Is it possible to exceed the agreed working hours?\u201c<\/a>) and sociology (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wu.ac.at\/en\/life-after-corona\/corona-qa-details\/detail\/does-working-from-home-result-in-a-more-balanced-division-of-labor-in-the-household\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cDoes working from home result in a more balanced division of labor in the household?\u201d<\/a>) to questions about other parts of the world (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wu.ac.at\/other\/zukunftsperspektiven-nach-der-coronakrise-1\/corona-qa-details\/detail\/what-consequences-does-the-corona-crisis-have-for-developing-countries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cWhat consequences does the corona crisis have for developing countries?\u201d<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Have you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wu.ac.at\/en\/life-after-corona\">submitted<\/a> your question yet?<\/p>\n<h2>Want to know more?<\/h2>\n<p>If you want to learn more about the how WU\u2019s research and society interact, please have a look at our brochure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wu.ac.at\/fileadmin\/wu\/h\/press\/Forschung\/Brosch\u00fcre_Forschungsimpact__englisch_.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cOur research impact\u201d (PDF)<\/a>.
